Moodle is an Open Source Learning Management System (LMS) that is used by millions people worldwide. It is a highly flexible LMS that can be used to conduct courses online or to support face-to-face teaching, learning and training. It has everything that a teacher will look for. Teacher can add assignments, quizzes, grading, certification, and social and collaborative learning -all with just a click.
Moodle is an acronym for ‘Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment’ and was originally developed by Martin Dougaimas in 2002. There is Moodle installations all over 230 countries.
Moodle 3.1 is our latest Long Term Support release and comes packed with user-requested features such as full support for Competency Based Education, smoother assignment grading, easy retrieval of deleted files (thanks to the Moodle Users Association), improved tagging and course editing, greater usability for students and enhancements to several activities such as forum, workshop and lesson.

Easily restore deleted content
The new Recycle bin, funded by the Moodle Users Association, means you no longer need worry about losing accidentally deleted course items or courses, as it's now possible easily to restore them.

The Publish as LTI tool allows remote users to access selected courses and activities on your site. Grades are sent back to the remote system.

Course activities and resources may now be tagged, making it simpler to find related content.
